Lauren Sanchez may well have shot to fame thanks to her high-profile relationship with Amazon billionaire Jeff Bezos but on Monday night, she proved that she can more than hold her own in the spotlight when she made a stunning solo arrival at the 2024 Met Gala.
The former TV anchor, 54, stepped out onto the red carpet without her fiance on her arm, choosing instead to walk in front of the cameras alone at the glittering gala, where she put on an incredible display in a custom-made Oscar de la Renta gown.
But while the dress itself was indeed eye-catching, what was more jaw-dropping was the enormous new diamond that Lauren was wearing on her wedding finger, a huge pear-shaped design that eclipsed even the giant rock Bezos had proposed with back in 2023.
It's unclear whether Lauren had simply borrowed the staggering jewel for the event - or whether her fiance splashed out on an upgraded design - but she chose to let it shine, going largely without any other accessories, save for another diamond ring on her pinky and a pair of diamond earrings hanging from her lobes, having teamed up with jeweler Lorraine Schwartz for the occasion.

However, stealing the show on the red carpet was the enormous new rock the former TV anchor was wearing on her wedding finger
Meanwhile her dress still managed to draw plenty of attention.
Designed to look like 'shattered glass', the strapless gown perfectly accentuated Lauren's enviable figure, with the voluminous skirt flowing around her as she made her way up the iconic Metropolitan Museum steps and into the event.
While the top of the dress was relatively simple, featuring a black bustier with a strapless sweetheart neckline, the skirt was covered in intricate floral patterns that looked much like a garden mosaic - very much in keeping with this year's dress code, The Garden of Time.
The dress featured several silver panels to give the illusion of 'shattered glass', with Lauren telling Vogue that she wanted to make a move away from her typical 'extremely sexy, low cut' looks.
According to Lauren, she was sent several options by designers Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim, all of which were much more in keeping with her normal style.
'If you saw them, you’d be like, "Oh, that’s very Lauren" — extremely sexy, low cut,' she said to Vogue.
'I go, "No, I think I’m going to try something different."'

While Bezos did not walk the carpet with his future wife, he did join her at the top of the iconic Met Museum steps for a quick photo before they made their way inside the event.
On Sunday, the couple attended a pre-Met Gala event together, looking every inch the glamorous couple as they mingled with their fellow celebrities.
Lauren and fiancé Jeff Bezos, 60, attended the Monse Maison Pre-Met Cocktail Celebration, which was held at La Mercerie in New York City Sunday night.
The award-winning journalist wore an eye-catching black, sheer, skin-tight dress to the event, despite the fact that Vogue's editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is rumored not to be fond of the ensembles she typically wears.
DailyMail.com reported last week that the soon-to-be Mrs Bezos was only allowed to attend the $350,000 per table ball if the Vogue editor has a say in what she wears.
An insider recently told Anna's biographer Amy Odell the famously exacting editor knows Lauren has 'poor taste,' and is keen to personally help her select a dress.

Lauren is notorious for wearing figure hugging and skin-bearing ensembles that leave little the the imagination.
'Anna doesn't always get personally involved in what guests wear,' the author wrote, adding that she was working with Lauren to choose between custom designs by the classically stylish Oscar de la Renta and two other as-yet-unnamed designers.
Anna Wintour is not alone in her critique of how Lauren dresses, apparently, as broadcaster Megyn Kelly recently said she 'looked like a hooker' in Milan and just weeks ago, restaurateur Keith McNally unleashed a rant about her outfit choices.
The Balthazar owner posted a seemingly unprovoked, posted a serious of pictures of the couple on April 15, along with the caption, 'Does anybody else find Jeff Bezos' New wife - Lauren Sanchez - ABSOLUTELY REVOLTING?'
'What an ugly and F***ing SMUG - LOOKING couple they make. Is this what having 1000 Billion dollars does to people?'
New York City restauranteur Keith McNally slammed those who criticized him for calling Lauren Sanchez revolting
On Sunday, McNally went on to call out people who spoke in Sanchez's defense, including her celebrity pals

'Although 90 per cent of the 3,000 comments I received from my Sanchez post were light and funny - and in the vein of the post - the comments I received from other billionaires' wives were unfunny and weird,' McNally said.
'The unfunniest was from the wife of comedian Jerry Seinfeld (whom I adore) - Jessica Seinfeld. Seinfeld must have been embarrassed by her comment because she quickly deleted it.'
'Here's part of it: "THIS POST IS A REFLECTION OF YOUR TWISTED, PITIFUL, AND HIDEOUS MIND. LAUREN HAS TWICE THE CHARACTER YOU DO."' '
'"Twisted, pitiful, and hideous." The f****r must have read my memoir,' he said.
